DAMAULI: The eastern segment of the Muglin-Pokhara road expansion project has achieved significant progress, reaching 42 percent completion. The ongoing project aims to widen the Prithvi Highway into a four-lane road for enhanced connectivity.

The progress is particularly notable in the road section spanning from Anbukhaireni to Jamune in Tanahun. Engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey, overseeing the project’s eastern section, reported that blacktopping has commenced on the expanded road. Currently, one-way blacktopping has been completed for a nine-kilometer stretch out of the total 41.5 kilometers.

Furthermore, the blacktopping of an additional five-kilometer road began on Wednesday, extending from Anbukhaireni Rural Municipality-3, Gaunpalika Chowk to Markichowk.

Earlier achievements include the successful blacktopping of a 3.5-kilometer road section from Anbukhaireni-1 Satrashaya to Markichowk. According to project sources, the blacktopping process is progressing steadily, with the goal of completing it within the next 15 days.

The Muglin-Pokhara road expansion project holds immense significance in enhancing transportation infrastructure, and the continuous progress in the eastern section marks a positive step towards achieving the project’s overall objectives.
