WFD urges to take precautions to avoid risk caused by excessive heat

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division (WFD) has urged people to take necessary precautions in order to mitigate the potential risks and damages resulting from the prevailing high temperatures, especially in the southern plains.

The country is currently experiencing a partial impact of western winds along with local winds.

According to the Weather Forecast Division, the weather will remain generally clear in the hilly areas of the country.

Thunder and lightning accompanied by brief rainfall are expected in several locations within the hilly areas of Bagmati, Lumbini, and Gandaki regions, as well as the Koshi region.

At night, the weather will remain generally clear in the hilly areas of the country, while the rest will be partly cloudy.

The likelihood of a decrease in temperature in the upcoming days is minimal, it said.
