Kathmandu Mayor Sah asks police to remove illegally built structures

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Sah, has asked the police to remove the structures built illegally on the roadside.

Sharing the illegally built structures on social media on Saturday, Mayor Sah said that the footpath should always be used for people to walk and the Metropolis has tried to ensure that no road meant for the public gets encroached upon.

“It is wrong if the Nepal Police, who implement the law, create their own structure by trespassing the footpath or the public places,” the Mayor wrote sharing the photos of the places encroached by the police stations, “So, the Metropolis expects the cooperation in ensuring the pavements are cleared for the public.”

Sah warned that if the police do not remove the structures themselves, they (the Metropolis) will be forced to remove those structures even to ensure the public about the quality laws.
