KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s attempts to resume the House of Representatives (HoR) meetings on Friday failed to bear any fruits.
The HoR meeting called for 3 pm today has been postponed till Sunday afternoon.
Speaker Ghimire discussed with the chief whips of various parties to conduct the meeting smoothly. But the meeting was postponed after the main opposition party CPN-UML took the stand that the meeting will not proceed until Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ resigns.
The UML has been obstructing the Parliament demanding PM Dahal’s resignation.
Prime Minister Dahal’s controversial remarks about Sardar Pritam Singh’s efforts to make him (Dahal) Prime Minister have sparked the parliament as main opposition UML has obstructed both houses demanding PM Dahal’s resignation.
The meeting of the National Assembly has also been adjourned till Sunday due to UML’s obstruction.
