PAC meeting today to address Ncell tax disputes

KATHMANDU: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under the House of Representatives (HoR) is set to convene at 2 PM today to deliberate on the tax disputes involving Ncell.

In a recent development, Malaysian company Axiata announced the sale of 80 percent of its Ncell shares to the UK’s Spectralite Limited for 50 million US dollars (6.66 billion rupees) without notifying the Nepal Telecommunication Authority. This action has raised concerns among the general public and the government.

The government has asserted that a thorough investigation will be conducted, and if the company is found to be at fault, consequences will follow.
