KATHMANDU: Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has been admitted to the Gangalal National Heart Center in Bansbari.
Shrestha was admitted to the hospital last night due to chest discomfort. Hospital sources report that Home Minister Shrestha underwent an angioplasty surgery.
Angioplasty is a medical procedure used to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels, commonly performed to treat atherosclerosis. This condition involves the build-up of fatty deposits (plaque) on the inner walls of arteries, causing them to narrow and restrict blood flow. While frequently performed on coronary arteries supplying blood to the heart muscle, angioplasty can also be conducted on other arteries in the body.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda visited the Gangalal National Heart Center to inquire about Shrestha’s health.
