NA Chair Timilsina urges overseas youths to return home for nation’s progress

KATHMANDU: National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has issued a call to young Nepalis residing abroad, urging them to come back home.

His appeal, shared during an event hosted by the National Child Rights Council, emphasized the potential for contributing to the nation’s prosperity with the knowledge gained overseas.

Timilsina highlighted the importance of fostering a mindset focused on contributing to the country upon returning, rather than solely lamenting the lack of opportunities. He also urged against solely blaming political leaders for the nation’s challenges, urging youths to actively engage in nation-building.

“Instead of seeking fault with leaders and opting to go abroad, the youth should play an active role in our country’s prosperity. They should aspire to become prime ministers in their youth. I am here to support such aspirations,” he emphasized.

Moreover, Timilsina stressed the crucial role of the youth in upcoming elections, urging them to elect leaders with a vision for the country’s development.

Echoing these sentiments, Bam Bahadur Baniya, Vice-Chairperson of the Council, emphasized the importance of political awareness among children, though advocating that they remain distanced from political propaganda.

Tilottam Poudel, Chairperson of Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal, highlighted the necessity for the government to facilitate an environment conducive to retaining the country’s youth.
