MANANG: Breaking records since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the district of Manang has witnessed a remarkable influx of foreign tourists.
The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP)’s Area Office in Manang reported that over 20,800 foreign tourists explored the region in the past 11 months.
Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, Chief of ACAP’s Manang Office, disclosed that October marked the peak, with a majority of tourists flocking to the district for thrilling adventure treks amidst its challenging high hills and mountainous landscapes.
Among the diverse array of foreign visitors from January to November this year, the French dominated the scene, closely followed by Israeli, German, British, American, and Russian tourists, as revealed by Bhujel.
Additionally, tourists hailing from Austria, the Netherlands, and India contributed to the vibrant mix of international guests in Manang, according to ACAP.
This surge marks a substantial increase compared to the 15,903 foreign tourists who visited the district in 2022, underlining Manang’s resilience and growing appeal as a premier destination post-pandemic.
