KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has alleged that opposition parties are attempting to impede actions against loan sharks by obstructing the session of the House of Representatives.
Addressing a gathering of young women affiliated with the CPN-Maoist Center, of which he is also the chairperson, the Prime Minister claimed that the opposition was panicking due to the government’s commendable initiatives.
“There are efforts underway to obstruct parliamentary proceedings by misinterpreting a statement I made during a book launch. The legislation targeting loan sharking is scheduled to be passed in today’s House of Representatives meeting. Some individuals are opposing action against loan sharks and corrupt individuals, hence obstructing the parliamentary session,” he stated.
The government has initiated an anti-corruption campaign and expressed confidence in achieving good governance. The Prime Minister urged young people to support the causes of good governance, social justice, and prosperity.
Highlighting the success of his recent visit to India, he emphasized the potential benefits Nepal could gain from the agreements made during the trip.
