Nepal T20 Cricket League: Janakpur Royals beat Pokhara Avengers by six wickets



KATHMANDU: The Janakpur Royals have won a match held today under the first edition of Nepal T20 Cricket League underway in the central capital.

Royals beat the Pokhara Avengers by six wickets securing its place in the second position of the point table with the accumulation of 12 points.

The Royals now have reached playoff with wins in six matches and defeats in three. In today’s match, the Avengers posted a target of 69 runs against the Royals and in return, the Royals made 60 in nine overs at the loss of four wickets.

Sharafuddin Ashraf hit the highest 37 for the victory of Royals followed by 17 from Trevon Griffith. Pawan Sarraf played with four, Rajesh Pulami and Ashan Priyanjan one each.

Toward bowling, Avengers’ Kushal Malla took three wickets and Asitha Madusanka Fernando took one wicket.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, the Avengers was limited to 68 by losing all the wickets.

Sidhhant Lohani scored the highest 17 while Asif Sheikh and Kushal Malla played with 16 each.

No other batsmen except them could register a double-digit run.

In a bid to prevent the Avenger from hitting more runs, Sompal Kami from the Royals took three wickets alone while Lalit Rajbanshi and Sharafuddin Aharaff took two wickets each.

Similarly, Pawan Sarraf, Trevon Griffith and Jitendra Mukhiya took one wicket watch.

With the today’s match, the Avengers has secured three wins and defeats in six matches. It is in the fifth position of the point table with six points.
