KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Wednesday discussed with Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari about the current state of the country’s economy.
Prime Minister Dahal also discussed the problems seen in the banking sector and the issues that need immediate improvement.
In the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar, Prime Minister Dahal expressed concern over the recent problems and challenges in the banking sector.
Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized the need to reduce the interest rate and improve the monetary policy regarding the liquidity problem as well as other necessary initiatives.
He also suggested it was necessary to find ways out to minimize the trouble faced by the people, to stop the flow of loans to unproductive areas and make the people well-informed and aware of the state of the economy.
