Nepal secured their spot in the T20 World Cup, to be held in the United States and the West Indies in June 2024, by defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 8 wickets at Mulpani Maidan in Kathmandu on Friday.

Nepal had previously participated in the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2014. Additionally, Oman also qualified for the World Cup from the qualifying match held in Kathmandu.

While chasing the UAE’s target of 135 runs at Moolpani ground, Nepal’s Ashif Shaikh was the top scorer with 63 runs. Gulshan Jha contributed 22 runs, and Kushal Bhurtel added 11 runs.
