KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division has indicated the likelihood of heavy rainfall occurring in isolated areas within the country’s four provinces.
This is due to the influence of a low-pressure system originating in the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to bring substantial precipitation to specific locations within the Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini regions later today.
Currently, there is intermittent to moderate rainfall in select areas of the Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
In addition to heavy rainfall, there is a possibility of light to moderate showers in several spots across the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini regions, with a chance of isolated showers in other areas within these regions later this afternoon.
Given the expected rainfall, there is a potential for rising river water levels, increasing the risk of floods and landslides.
The Weather Forecast Division has urged people to take necessary precautions to mitigate any inconveniences, risks, or damage to public health, agriculture, daily routines, road networks, and air transportation services.
