Contractors protest in front of Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: Construction professionals have taken to protest with their construction tools in front of the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday morning.

They protested setting 9 different demands including, the payment of construction works should be made on time, and that all projects should be given a one-time extension.

Businessmen are demanding that prices should be adjusted to address excessive price rises, projects lying incomplete due to scarcity of budget should get more budget, and the projects which could not be completed due to out-of-control circumstances should get the next chance for completion.

They demanded that the public procurement act and rules related to infrastructure should be business-friendly. Earlier, they had protested in Baluwatar on Monday.
