Dehimandu clinches municipal level Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament

BAITADI: Dehimandu in Dasharathchand Municipality-2 lifted the title under the municipal level Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament. It defeated Tripura in the municipality-8 by seven wickets in the final at the Niglashaini Ground in the municipality in Baitadi district on Tuesday.

Chasing the 60-run target posted by Tripura, the winning team achieved it in 7.5 overs at the loss of three wickets. For the winning team, Captain Pinki Bohara remained unbeaten on 20, while Manisha Bohara contributed 11. Similarly, Kabita Bohara remained unbeaten on 10. For Tripura, Karishma Thapa, Janaki Thapa and Janabi Mauni claimed one wicket each.

Elected into bat first after winning the toss, the Tripura made 59 runs in 14.3 overs losing all wickets. For the team, Maya Tamata hit 10 runs. Similarly for Dehimandu, Nirmala Bohara, Aarati Bohara and Basanti Bohara took three wickets each.

Dehimandu got Rs 25,000 in cash, trophies and medals. Similarly, Tripura received Rs 15,000 in cash, trophies and medals.

Dehimandu’s Basanti was announced the woman of the final, and the team’s Captain Pinki the best player. Pinki got Rs 3,000, while Basanti Rs 1,500.
