Search for missing Tara Air plane resumes

GANDAKI: The search for the Tara Air plane, which went out of contact on Sunday morning during a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, has resumed from today.

According to Tara Air, the search for the possible area has started since this morning.

The search for the Tara Air plane began shortly after it lost contact on Sunday morning. But the plane could not be found.

On Sunday, a search was conducted for the missing plane by a Nepal Army helicopter, but in vain. Due to the inclement weather, the search operation had to be postponed till Sunday morning.

It is estimated that the plane may have crashed in areas like Lete and Titi of Manang. The locals of Manang also said that the army helicopter could not reach the suspected place.

The 9N-AET-DHC-6 twin-engine aircraft of Tara Air, which flew from Pokhara to Jomsom at 9:55 am yesterday, went missing after it lost contact.

It takes 20 minutes to reach Jomsom from Pokhara. But within 12 minutes of taking off, the aircraft lost contact.

According to Tara Air, the missing aircraft last came in contact with Jomsom Tower at 10:07 am on Sunday at Ghodepani and then lost contact.

A helicopter was sent from Jomsom to search for the missing plane, but due to inclement weather, the helicopter returned to Jomsom.

There were 22 people including two German nationals, four Indians, 13 Nepalis, and three crew members in the missing plane.
