Debutant Gujarat defeat Rajasthan to clinch IPL title



KATHMANDU: Gujarat Titans, a debutant to the Indian Premier League (IPL), have clinched the title.

Gujarat clinched the title by defeating Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in the final held on Sunday night. Gujarat have won the IPL title in its first participation as they started playing from this IPL season.

Gujarat reached the target of 131 runs set by Rajasthan by losing three wickets in 18 overs. In Gujarat’s victory, Subman Gill topped the score with 45 runs followed by Captain Hardik Pandya and
David Miller with 34 and 32 runs, respectively.

In reply, Rajasthan’s Trent Bold, Prasidh Krishna, and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Rajasthan lost notched up 130 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Josh Butler topped the score for Rajasthan with 39 runs, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ryan Parag added 22 and 15 runs respectively.

Gujarat’s Hardik Pandya took three wickets and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore took two wickets from Gujarat.
