UK-based MCC to play one-day match with CAN-11 today



KATHMANDU: The United Kingdom based Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is scheduled to play a one-day match with Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)-11 today.

Chairperson of the Cricket Association of Kaski, Sanjaya Kanta Sigdel said MCC will play the match in Pokhara on Saturday.

On Friday, the CAN-11 involving Nepali women cricket players defeated visiting MCC by 19 runs in a friendly match at the cricket ground in the Pokhara Stadium.

Elected to bat first after winning the toss, CAN-11 hit 99 runs in allotted 20 overs at the loss of nine wickets.

Chasing the 100-run target, MCC was restricted to 80 runs in 19.5 overs. For CAN-11, Capitan Rubina Chhetri claimed five wickets with a hat-trick helping the team win the match.

Similarly, Neri Thapa top-scored with 18 runs off 31 balls including two boundaries.
