KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Deputy Secretary General Pradip Gyawali has said that the parliamentary probe committee looking into allegations against Finance Minister Janardan Sharma was not able to work fully.
Gyawali, who is also a member of the probe committee, told media persons at Parliament on Friday that they did not investigate the issue of unauthorized persons entering the Ministry of Finance besides looking at footages of the close circuit cameras (CCTVs).
He blamed ruling party lawmakers’ for not investigating the matter fully.
According to him, the committee was not successful in tallying the call details and location of the people who were said to be unauthorized and the committee also did not interrogate those people who were in the ministry at that time.
Gyawali said that since the investigation could not be completed, the a concrete conclusion could not be reached.
Arguing about systems rather than individuals, parties and the government, he said the facts were not fully discussed in the committee.
He claimed that the work did not proceed as per the procedures drafted by the committee.
