Lumbini All Stars secures nine-run victory over Far West United



KATHMANDU: Lumbini All Stars has defeated Far West United by nine runs in a match today under the first edition of the ongoing Nepal T20 Cricket League in Kathmandu. The match was held at Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

With this win, the team has topped the score board with eight points. So far, it secured four consecutive wins including this one.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Far West United made 137 runs in allotted 20 overs at the loss of six wickets.

The match tied after Lumbini All Stars could not hit the 138-run target posted by the losing team, pushing it to the super over.

Elected into bat first after winning the toss, Lumbini All Stars hit 19 runs in the super over. Chasing the 20-run target by the winning team, Far West United was restricted to 10 runs, thus losing the match. For the winning team, Lahiru Milantha made 15 runs and Shadley van Schalkwyk three.

For Far West United, Hashmatullah Shahidi hit eight runs, and Binod Bhandari two.

Far West United is placed in the fourth position with two points. Winner will receive Rs 5.5 million in cash, first runner-up Rs 3 million, second runner-up Rs 1 million and third runner-up Rs 500,000. Various six teams have participated in the tournament.
