Nepal sees 12,008 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

6,172 cases in Kathmandu valley alone



KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 12,008 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of  Tuesday.

Of the confirmed cases today, 9,432 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 2,576 from the antigen method.

Likewise, there are 4,875 cases in Kathmandu, 515 in Bhaktapur and 782 in Lalitpur, taking the total cases in the valley to 6,172 in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there were eight coronavirus-related deaths reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,667 to date.

Currently, there are 88,934 active cases in the country.

In the past 24-hour period, 3,040 infected patients recovered.
