Ruling coalition meeting on power sharing ends inconclusively



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling coalition focused on seat distribution among coalition partners has ended inconclusively.

The meeting was attended by top leaders of the ruling coalition and members of a task force led by Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday.

However, task force coordinator Sitaula did not attend in the meeting.

The ruling coalition partners are in talks with each other ever since the announcement of the date of Federal Parliament and Provincial Assembly slated for November 20.

They also formed Sitaula-led force to propose seat distribution. However, they are yet to reach a concrete proposal.

The meeting today discussed criteria for candidate selection, among other things.

The top leaders of the coalition will be in talks on Wednesday as well.
