PM Deuba not to reshuffle cabinet “anytime soon”

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Sher Bahadur Deuba has decided not to reshuffle his cabinet only after the end of the budget session of the Parliament.

Despite constant pressure from the Unified Socialist to reshuffle the cabinet, PM Deuba has decided to reshuffle the cabinet only after the end of the budget session.

“I will face problems if I reshuffled the cabinet now,” Unified Socialist spokesperson Jagannath Khatiwada quoted PM Deuba as saying.

Khatiwada added that PM Deuba is not in a mood to reshuffle the cabinet “anytime soon”.

According to him, party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has been putting constant pressure on Prime Minister Deuba to implement the party’s decision to reshuffle the cabinet meeting.

The Unified Socialist party has already decided to recall Health Minister Birodh Khatiwada, Culture and Tourism Minister Prem Ale, Urban Development Minister Ram Kumari Jhakri and Labor Minister Kisan Shrestha and send Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Sher Bahadur Kuwar, Metmani Chaudhary and Hirachandra KC to the PM Deuba-led government.

Meanwhile, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” is also under pressure from his party leaders to recall some ministers, particularly Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma and send new faces to the cabinet.
