KMC removing shops operating in the underground parking area

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started removing the shops operating in the underground parking area.

The KMC had already published a notice setting a deadline to vacate the places where businesses were operating after taking permission to park vehicles.

KMC has started removing the shops located in the underground parking area in Baneshwor and other areas from Monday.

The team along with Mayor Balen Shah reached the underground parking area today.

Likewise, KMC has also started picking up the garbage scattered and piled up at different places of Kathmandu.

It said that the garbage will be picked up and taken to the landfill site in Bancharedanda within two days.

The garbage in the Kathmandu Valley will be removed, the Metropolitan Corporation said.

KMC Mayor Balen Shah and the residents of Bancheredada have reached a “conditional agreement” on the issue of garbage disposal.

More than 30 trucks and tippers of the private sector are being used in the waste transportation of the Valley.
