Citizenship Bill to be tabled in HoR for endorsement



KATHMANDU: The Citizenship Amendment Bill, which has been in controversy for a long time, is being presented for decision in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The government is making efforts to pass the Citizenship Bill through the fast track before the announcement of the date of the parliamentary elections.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand will submit a proposal to discuss and endorse the Citizenship Bill in the meeting held at 1 pm.

In the preliminary agenda issued by the Parliament Secretariat on Friday morning, it is mentioned that the “Nepal Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill, 2079” and its amendments will be discussed.

Similarly, there is an agenda for presenting the amendments received on the bill for decision today.
