‘Ganeshman Singh Democracy Fighter Honour’ conferred on 11 persons



KATHMANDU: The Ganeshman Singh Foundation has conferred the ‘Ganeshman Singh Democracy Fighter Honor’ on 11 persons in recognition of their contribution to the establishment, restoration, and protection of democracy.

The honor carried a purse of Rs 25,000, an appreciation letter, and a shawl each.

Those honoured are Dhyan Govind Ranjit (Lalitpur), Himalaya Shumsher Rana (Kathmandu), Managya Lakol (Kathmandu), Dr Dinesh Nath Gongol (Kathmandu), Yog Prasad Upadhyay (Kathmandu), Harinath Bastola (Sunsari), late Champa Tharu (Kailali), late Ganesh Karmacharya (Banke), Dilip Sapkota (Morang), Purna Nand Sharma (Tehrathum) and Narayan Prasad Bhattarai (Panchthar).

Foundation Chairperson and NC leader Prakash Man Singh reminded that they were working for enlivening the history of the late Ganeshman Singh. “Late Ganeshman Singh had played significant role to restore democracy which was seized by the ruler,” he said, adding that Foundation has been conducting various activities, such as publication of books and articles and conduct of different programs.

On the occasion, central member Dhyan Govind Ranjit said the Foundation should be more active to make people aware of the late Singh’s contribution to the democracy.

Other speakers also said the young generation should be made aware about the Late Ganeshman Singh and his role on democratic movement in the country. (RSS)
