KATHMANDU: Internal preparations are on for Nepal’s high-level participation in the United Nations 77th General Assembly, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at a regular press meet in Singha Durbar today, Ministry Spokesperson Sewa Lamsal said, “We will formally inform about the matter after the decision of the Council of Ministers. We have started internal preparations for Nepal’s high-level participation in the UNGA.”

“High-level participation in the UNGA is expected as it is a forum for bringing the heads of the governments or the heads of the States across from the world together and preparations are also going on accordingly. It will be specified by the Council of Ministers,” the MoFA official said.

The UNGA will be commending on coming September 13. As Lamsal said, Nepal is effortful to engage in multilateral diplomacy more and more and show its stronger presence in the interests of the nation.

Similarly, in response to journalists’ query about the schedule of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s planned visit to the United States of America (USA), she said homework has been done at one level and it will be announced at a convenient time of both parties.
