NEPSE spirals down, loses 41.77 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has continued its downtrend on Monday as well.

The NEPSE index, which had declined by 29.6 points on Sunday, has dropped by 41.77 points to close at 2,343.87 points on Monday.

Shares of all sub-indices closed red with sub-indices such as insurance, manufacturing, hydropower, finance, others, development banks and hotels and tourism falling sharply.

A total of 3,876,302 shares of 229 companies were traded via 31,825 transactions resulting in the total turnover of Rs 1.53 billion. The most traded stock by turnover was Nabil Bank, whose transaction was worth Rs 49.6 million.

Shares of the NRN Infrastructure and Development Company fell more than eight percent today. Likewise, shares of NESDO Sambriddhi Microfinance rose by 10 percent at circuit-breaker level though the overall market spiraled down.
