Gold price jumps Rs 7,200 per tola



KATHMANDU: The price of gold increased by Rs 7,200 per tola on Wednesday in the domestic market, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.

With the latest rise, gold is being traded at Rs 299,000 per tola, up from Rs291,800 per tola on Tuesday.

The federation attributed the price hike to rising gold prices in the international market. Global gold prices climbed as crude oil prices declined following diplomatic efforts to end tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

A week ago, on Wednesday, gold was traded at Rs 297,600 per tola in the domestic market.

Silver prices also increased on Wednesday. The price of silver rose by Rs205 per tola compared to Tuesday.

Silver, which was traded at Rs 4,820 per tola on Tuesday, reached Rs 5,025 per tola on Wednesday. A week earlier, silver was traded at Rs 4,945 per tola.
