Man buried to death; one injured in Panchthar



KATHMANDU: A person died when a landslide occurred while laying a foundation stone for a house at Buddhachowk in Phidim municipality-1 of Panchthar district.

The deceased has been identified as Gopal Dhungana, a local.

According to the District Police Office, Panchthar, a dry landslide fell this morning while laying the foundation stone of the house.

Dhungana was performing an inaugural ritual to lay a foundation stone for the house of Madan Pandak.

Critically injured Dhungana, who was rushed to Phidim District Hospital, died in the course of treatment.

Pandak’s nine-year-old daughter also sustained injuries in the incident. She is undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
