Nepal and China agree to resume Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border point

KATHMANDU: Nepal and China have agreed to resume two-way trade from the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border port following the Covid-19 health protocols and guidelines.

For this, both sides will establish pandemic prevention and control mechanisms.

This was decided at a meeting of the border consultation between Nepal and China on Thursday.

The meeting also decided to open the Hilsa-Purang border point for the transportation of goods and construction materials from China, with the aim of supporting the livelihood of the people of the northern Himalayan region of Nepal, by implementing the necessary Covid-19 health protocols and guidelines.

Lok Bahadur Thapa, Head of Northeast Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Hong Liang, Director General of Border and Ocean Affairs Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and China led their respective delegations in the meeting.
