UML parliamentary party meeting discussing impeachment against SC judges



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the parliamentary party of the main opposition party CPN (UML) is underway.

The meeting, which started at the Parliament Building, New Baneshwor, is likely to decide on the impeachment of the Chief Justice by the ruling coalition.

UML has already announced to oppose the impeachment against the Chief Justice.

The meeting of the parliamentary parties will also decide whether to file an impeachment motion against other judges of the Supreme Court.

A meeting of the secretariat held at the residence of UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli in Balkot last evening discussed the issue of impeachment of Speaker Agni Sapkota, Acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Deepak Kumar Karki, Justices Meera Khadka, Ishwar Khatiwada and Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai.
