Rabi Lamichhane’s RSP willing to join govt, discussions underway on agendas

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) , which participated in the general elections for the first time and entered the parliament with 20 seats, is preparing to participate in the government.

According to RSP sources, informal discussions are underway with the leaders of both alliances led by Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.

RSP has started the discussion on the agenda to be taken to the government, a leader said.

RSP is ready to participate in the government if the government agrees on the agenda including the right to vote of Nepalis living abroad, the control of corruption and reform of the university sector.

RSP will formally make an announcement on joining the government after getting substantive assurance of enforcing its agenda, an RSP lawmaker said under anonymity.
