Assistance handed over to Mugu fire victims



MUGU: Assistance of over Rs. 800,000 has been handed over to the families affected by the incident of fire in Mugu.

The food items and clothes received from some non-governmental organizations and individuals were handed over to the fire incident survivors.

Twenty-one houses were gutted in a fire in the market of the district headquarters Gamgadhi on the night of October 15, 2021.

The damage suffered by traders and families living in the houses was more than Rs 350 million.

Eight of the fire victims are currently living in tents provided by the provincial government and others in the market.

Dadiram Kumai, Manman Budha and Rajni Bham, who reached the tent where the victim’s family was staying, handed over the collected materials.

On the occasion, 83 kg rice, blankets and mats were distributed to 83 families.

Deputy Mayor of Chhayannath Rara Municipality, Suntala Rokaya, urged the donors and the government to provide construction materials and cash assistance to the families of the victims.

On occasion, Rs. 20,000 was received from Davachiring Lama, Rs. 20,000 from Davachiring Jigme Torche Lama, Rs. 27,000 from 13 houses in Kharigaun and Rs. 20,000 from Manman Budha.

Similarly, NCNF and NCF Nepal provided blankets, rice and mats worth Rs. 800,000, according to social worker Rajni Bham.
