Nepal sets 120 runs target against Scotland



KATHMANDU: Nepali cricket team has presented a target of 120 runs to Scotland.

In the Nepal, Namibia and Scotland comprising Cricket World Cup League 2, Nepal lost all wickets in 35.3 overs and was reduced to 119 runs against Scotland on Thursday.

After winning the toss at the United Cricket Club ground in Windhoek, Namibia, Nepal lost its rhythm from the start. Captain Rohit Kumar Poudel scored 47 runs for Nepal, Sompal Kami scored 16 runs, Dipendra Singh Airi scored 14 runs and Lalit Rajbanshi scored 11 runs. Other batsmen could not even score double digit runs.

While opener Arjun Saud was ducked out, another opener Ashif Shaikh returned to the pavilion after scoring 1 run. Similarly, Gyanendra Malla scored 9 runs, Arif Sheikh scored 6 runs, Harishankar Sah scored 1 run and Gulsan Jha scored 5 runs.

On the bowling side, Scotland’s Brandon McMullen and Safyan Sharif and Mark Watt took 2 wickets each while Chris Soule, Chris Greaves and Christopher McBeath took 1 wicket each.

Scotland is batting now.
