Dumre-Besisahar and Besisahar-Chame road blocked by landslide



TANAHUN: The Dumre-Bensisahar and Bensisahar Chame roads have been blocked since last night due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall.

The Besisahar-Chame road has been blocked due to landslides at Udipur of Bensisahar Municipality-1 and in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4.

The road has been blocked after stones fell from the top, said Police Inspector of the District Police Office, Jagdish Regmi. Due to road obstruction, passengers going to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Gorkha, Tanahun from Besisahar and coming to Bensisahar have been left stranded.

The total length of this section of the road is 42 kilometers.

Similarly, vehicles could not operate after the landslide blocked the Bensisahar-Chame road connecting Lamjung and Manang at Rambazaar of Marsyangdi rural municipality.

The police said that the road is being blocked due to landslides with large stones falling from above the road. This section of road covers a distance of 65 kilometers.
