KATHMANDU: Bhutan has given a target of 67 runs to Nepal in the Asia selection under the ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup.
Batting first after winning the toss in Malaysia, Bhutan scored 66 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated overs.
Sonam and Nawang Choden shared 20 runs for Bhutan. Manisha Kumari Upadhyay gave the first success to Nepal when she dismissed Nawang for 11 runs. Bhutan scored 29 runs in 7.4 overs and lost the second wicket.
Bhutan was 8-64 in 18.3 overs. Bhutan lost the ninth wicket in 19.1 overs. Bhutan’s Anjuli Ghale was out for 2 runs as Nepal’s Anu Kadayat gave her second individual victory.
For Nepal, Manisha Kumari Upadhyaya bowled 4 overs and took 2 wickets for 3 runs with 2 overs maiden.
Similarly, Sneha Mahara took 1 wicket for 13 runs in 4 overs with 1 over maiden. Anu Kadayat bowled 3 overs and took 2 wickets for 14 runs.
Likewise, Kritika Marasini bowled 3 overs and took 2 wickets for 11 runs. Shrishti Jaisi spent 16 runs in 4 overs while Manisha Rana spent only 3 runs in 2 overs with 1 over maiden.
Nepal granted 10 runs extra in today’s match.
Earlier, in the first match of the series Nepal had defeated Qatar by 79 runs in the first match. However, in the second match, Nepal lost to United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 10 runs. Nepal was all out for 8 runs in that match.
The top team from the Asian selection will make it to the World Cup to be held in South Africa.
