Nepal sees 90 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Witnessing an uptick in COVID-19 cases, Nepal recorded a total of 90 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Tuesday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 73 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 17 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 3,112 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,944 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,168 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 401 active cases in the country as 20 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

No person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 11,952 to date.
