Rupandehi bus accident: Five among nine deceased identified

Home Minister Khand directs authorities to provide special treatment of the injured



KATHMANDU: Five of the nine deceased in a bus accident that took place in Rupandehi this morning have been identified.

The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Pandey, Bishnu Poudel and Krishna Prasad Basyal of Rupandehi, and Dinesh Das of Rautahat and Arvind Sharma of India.

According to Rupandehi Chief Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi, the bus (Lu 2 Kha 3841) heading from Janakpur to Bhairahawa met with an accident at Rohini Bridge on the Bhairahawa-Parasi Postal Road in Rohini rural municipality-3 at around 4:45 am.

Nine people died in the accident.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has directed the concerned authorities to pay attention to the injured in the accident.

The Home Minister has instructed Rupandehi Chief District Officer Rishi Ram Tiwari, Lumbini Province Police Chief Deputy Inspector General Nal Prasad Upadhyay and Rupandehi Police Chief Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi to arrange for the treatment of the injured.

The Home Minister has requested the Chair of Bhim Hospital Kul Prasad Neupane and Medical Superintendent Dr Shakuntala Gupta and the Head of Administration of Universal Medical College Tej KC to make arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
