Floods, landslides disrupt transport in several districts

KATHMANDU: Transport services have been disrupted on major highways and road sections in several districts, including Rasuwa, due to floods and landslides.

According to the Department of Roads, several road sections in Ilam, Kavrepalanchok, Makawanpur, Rasuwa and Nuwakot have been obstructed.

The Tokha-Chhahare road section in the Ghaderikhola area of Shivapuri Rural Municipality-5, Nuwakot, has been affected by landslides. Meanwhile, vehicle movement has been prohibited along the Hetauda-Tingan-Bagmati-Lalitpur road section in Makawanpur due to the risk of possible floods and landslides.

As roads could be obstructed at any time due to continuous rainfall, floods and landslides, police have urged the public to check road conditions before travelling and exercise caution in vulnerable areas.
