KATHMANDU: Moderate to heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and snowfall in the mountainous areas, is expected across several parts of Nepal this afternoon, with very heavy rainfall possible in some areas.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, moderate to heavy rainfall is currently occurring in some places in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
It said moderate to heavy rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in many places in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country this afternoon.
Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is also likely in many places in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in some places in the Terai areas of Madhes and Koshi provinces.
Heavy rainfall is possible in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in one or two places in the hilly regions of Karnali province and the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. Very heavy rainfall is also possible in one or two places in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Similarly, tonight, moderate to heavy rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and in a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is also possible in some places in the Terai region. Heavy rainfall is possible in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi province and in the hilly and Terai areas of Bagmati province.
