Cold wave claims two in Dhanusha and Saptari

JANAKPUR: Two people have died in Dhanusha and Saptari due to cold wave continuing for the last few days.

The deceased has been  identified as  Smudridevi Yadav, 60, of Chhireshwornath municipality, Dhanusha and Dev Narayan Thakur, 65, Mahadeva rural municipality-4, Saptari, informed chief of district coordination committee Ramdev Banrait Yadav.

Four local units – Chhireshwornatah municipality, Nagarain municipality, Mukhiyapatti rural municipality and Laxminiya rural municipality – have shut down educational institutes due to biting cold that brought the normal life into a grinding halt.

People are burning fire at intersections to protect themselves from the biting cold.
