Kiwanis Club of Patan forms working committee under Pandey’s lead



KATHMANDU: The first working committee of Kiwanis Club of Patan has been formed under the chairmanship of Prakash Raj Pandey amid a program in Lalitpur.

The working committee has 17 members, including Chairperson Pandey. Pandey is an Everest summiteer.

Speaking on the occasion, Pandey said that the club would work in the field of education and the health of children in the coming days. He claimed that there are many clubs working in the social sector but Kiwanis will be made different from others.

Chair Pandey said, “The Kiwanis Club of Patan will continue to work for the overall development in the coming days, especially in the field of children’s education and health.”

The club has made immediate and long-term plans. It has moved ahead by making an action plan for the physical, intellectual, and social development of children.

The club will continue to work especially in the fields of education, health, sports, and environment.

Scholarship programs for children’s studies, health camps in high mountainous areas, environmental sanitation programs, and planting of trees to keep the environment clean will also be done.

Kiwanis International was founded in 1915 by a group of businessmen in Detroit, Michigan, United States.

Kiwanis clubs are helping children thrive, prosper and grow in nearly 80 nations and geographic locations.

It was established in 2015 in Nepal. The club has been working in various social sectors since its inception.
