Rabi Lamichhane’s RSP announces 21-member central committee

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swotantra Party (RSP) led by former journalist Rabi Lamichhane has announced the names of central committee members.

The party led by Lamichhane has 21 central members, including Dr. Mukul Dhakal, who is also the party spokesperson.

Likewise, other central members include Dol Prasad Aryal, Kabindra Burlakoti, Deepak Raj Bohara, Bipin Kumar Acharya, Maheshwar Ghimire, Basumaya Tamang, and Upendra Pandey.

Similarly, other members include Ishra Mulla Mia, Ganesh Parajuli, Sobita Gautam, Kusum Maharjan, Bishnu Kumar Shrestha, Ram Krishna Bhattarai, Dr. Prabhat Adhikari, Geeta Regmi, Dr. Rakesh Yadav, Pramila Kaluju, Ravina Ghimire and Eliza Gurung.

Lamichhane had announced the formation of the party on June 21.

The Election Commission (EC) on Friday registered the party with the name Rastriya Swotantra Party with a bell inside a circle as its election symbol.

Meanwhile, two petitions were filed against Lamichhane’s party over the use of the word “Swotantra”.

The petitioners had argued that the use of the term ‘Swotantra’ or independent in the party’s name confuses the voters and the identity of the candidates willing to contest as independent candidates also fall into crisis.
