Prohibitory order extended in Baitadi

BAITADI: The Prohibitory order effective in the Baitadi district has been extended to August 15. The order that began on July 16 was effective until yesterday.

This is the seventh time that the prohibitory order has been enforced in the district. The existing order had to be extended considering the threat of COVID-19 infection, acting Chief District Officer of Baitadi Khagendra Bharati said.

Accordingly, large gatherings like marriage functions and other religious events have been regulated, allowing only a maximum of 25 persons at a time. Grocery stores however will remain open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Prohibitory order was first introduced in Baitedi on April 3. Since then, it has been extended with various changes.
Meanwhile, health workers have asked one and all to exercise caution considering the likelihood of the third wave of COVID-19.

There are currently 27 active cases of COVID-19 in the district. So far, 18 people have died of COVID-19 in Baitedi.
