Maoist leader Neupane voices dissenting view on Chair Prachanda’s dossier

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center leader Lekhnath Neupane has put forth dissenting views on the political dossier tabled by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the party’s ongoing 8th general convention.

Neupane presented an eight-point note of dissent on the political dossier during the group discussion held as part of the general convention. At the group discussion of the Valley Special Provincial Committee, he said that the dossier lacked to address basic issues and could not take concrete shape.

Leader Neupane was of the view that the Maoists were following personality cult just like in the CPN-UML. He said that self-centered individualism of Prachanda was evident in the document.

“In most all of Prachanda’s public statements, decisions made by the party or party’s bodies are rarely heard. Possessive pronouns are most used instead of using collective nouns such as the Maoists, the party’s Central Committee,” he wrote in the note.

“While we criticized the UML and the communist movement for being excessively influenced by Chair KP Oli, similar trend seems to repeat in the Maoists,” he wrote.

He also raised objection to the cut out of Prachanda being placed at the general convention venue. “It would have been better had we used cut outs of martyrs instead of party Chair Prachanda,” he suggested.
