Lalita Niwas land grab: SC hearing on petition filed against Nepal, Bhattarai underway

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has started hearing the case filed against former Prime Minister duo Madhav Kumar Nepal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai on the Lalita Niwas land grab case.

A joint bench of Justices Anil Kumar Sinha and Hari Prasad Phuyal is hearing the debate.

The Supreme Court had on February 14 issued an order to provide evidence to decide whether it needs prosecution or not.

Hearing the case on Sunday, the apex court had issued an order in the name of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to provide evidence to substantiate the case.

Senior Advocate Bal Krishna Neupane had filed a writ petition on February 12, 2020 saying that a supplementary indictment should be filed against the people involved in the Lalita Niwas land grab case.
