Alternative road to Furkekhola to close for five hours today

DHADING: Traffic movement along a key alternative route in Dhading will come to a halt for five hours today as authorities carry out necessary maintenance work following the collapse of the Furkekhola bridge.

According to the District Administration Office, Dhading, the movement of all types of vehicles along the Parewatar–Pipaltar–Adamtar–Belintar–Mastar road section will be halted from 10 am to 3 pm today.

Chief District Officer Laxmi Pandey said the road will remain closed during the period as maintenance work is required at several locations along the alternative route.

The concrete bridge at Furkekhola along the Prithvi Highway was washed away by flooding in the Bhotekoshi River on Bhadra 20. Following the damage, the Parewatar–Pipaltar–Adamtar–Belintar–Mastar road section has been used as an alternative route.

The District Administration Office has urged passengers and vehicle operators to use the Dhadingbesi–Sunaula Bazaar–Bhorle–Kosikhola–Fosretar–Kalleritar road section or other available alternative routes during the closure period.
