PM Oli’s ‘tyranny and autocracy’ will now end: Prachanda

BIRATNAGAR: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has remarked that ‘tyranny and autocracy’ of Prime Minister KP Oli will now end.

Addressing a protest rally in Biratnagar on Friday against the dissolution of the House of Representatives, Prachanda accused the Prime Minister of committing atrocities.

He also said that Prime Minister Oli had always insulted him saying that he looked after the benefits of his children.

“Is it my fault for involving my children in the republican movement? Is it my fault I didn’t send my children to study in the US or the UK? I did not seek special rights for my children. When we were fighting for the republic, my daughters used to walk in the forest of Rolpa with guns. Is that my fault?” Prachanda asked.

Similarly, Prachanda complained that the Prime Minister humiliated him ‘even though he tried to take the country on the path of peace and prosperity’.

Mentioning that they have raised the issue of upliftment of the society, Prachanda further said, “We have dreamed of good governance and prosperity, we have talked about the upliftment of the oppressed community.”

Prachanda also blamed the government for protecting the wrongdoers and those involved in corruption.

The former Prime Minister argued that the Speaker can summon the House session when necessary.

“The Supreme Court will give a verdict on writs against parliamentary dissolution upholding the constitutional spirit”, Prachanda said.
