Govt puts ban on foreigners flying to third countries making Nepal as transit point

KATHMANDU: The government has put a ban on foreigners flying to third countries making Nepal as a transit point.

Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Department of Immigration (DoI) said foreigners are restricted from flying to third countries making Nepal as a transit point in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19.

This decision will remain effective from Wednesday midnight (April 28), said Jhanka Nath Dhakal, the Director and Information Officer at the DoI.

“The government has barred foreigners from flying to third countries via Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) making Nepal as a transit point effective from Wednesday midnight (April 28),” reads the press release.

However, this rule does not apply to those coming to Nepal as their final destination and those moving to foreign countries from here.
